Weight Loss Options
Surgical Weight Loss and Advanced General Surgery Langtree offers both surgical and non-surgical weight loss options when traditional dieting and exercising have failed. These weight loss options share the same results: curbing hunger and restricting intake and/or absorption for maximum weight loss. Even better, each approach can be performed as a minimally invasive procedure using tiny incisions, which may make recovery fast and virtually pain-free.
Surgical Weight Loss Options
Bariatric surgical procedures are typically performed laparoscopically. We offer single incision laparoscopic surgery, a virtually scarless approach to surgery. Single incision laparoscopic surgery is an advanced minimally invasive surgical technique in which the surgeon operates through a single incision instead of the traditional four or more laparoscopic incisions. The bariatric procedure is performed entirely through the umbilicus (belly button), leaving patients with minimal or no visible scar. Single incision laparoscopic surgery leaves the patient with the potential for less post-operative pain, quicker recovery time and reduced risk of wound site infections.
Bariatric surgical procedures can be performed using this approach, but not all patients are candidates. The determination depends on many factors, including the size of the liver, body mass index (BMI) and previous surgeries. This will all be discussed during a patient’s initial consultation. Results can vary and are not guaranteed even for patients determined to be candidates before the surgery.
