The Stork's Landing Maternity Center at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center provides the comforts of home in an advanced hospital setting. The neonatal/perinatal clinical care team in The Stork’s Landing includes obstetricians, anesthesiologists, labor/delivery/recovery/post-partum and nursery registered nurses, lactation consultants and neonatal nurse practitioners with neonatologists providing supervision - all dedicated to keeping mom and baby as healthy as possible.

Our Services

Babies don't wait to come into the world. We're right here to assist in their arrival 24 hours a day. Specially designed for growing families, the maternity center offers:

• Home-like postpartum rooms with private showers
• Decorative labor delivery and recovery suites with private Jacuzzi baths
• A family focused environment
• A well-baby nursery provides a range of care for healthy newborn babies.
• Board-certified obstetricians/gynecologists, lactation consultants and anesthesiologists for epidural anesthesia 24 hours
• Neonatal resuscitation and CPR-certified nurses
• Courses for mom, dad and siblings, including infant/child CPR

Nitrous Oxide - Alternative Pain Management Option
The Stork's Landing now offers nitrous oxide as an alternative pain management option for laboring mothers! Nitrous oxide is safe, easy to use and takes effect in minutes. Ask your healthcare provider for more information if you are interested in using nitrous oxide to help with managing your labor.

Some of the benefits of nitrous oxide include:

• Ease of non-invasive self-administration - empowers patients to have more control of their own pain management
• Fast acting analgesic - takes effect in minutes and has a short duration of effect, wearing off in minutes
• Supported as a safe and effective form of pain control by national organizations, including American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), and American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM).
