Volunteer Auxiliary Luncheon Features Teddy Bears on Parade
12/21/2017
Members of the Lake Norman Regional Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary recently bought and donated new teddy bears and other stuffed animals to area police departments.
During the auxiliary’s annual holiday celebration, which was held at River Run Country Club, these stuffed animals were contributed to representatives of the Mooresville and Davidson Police departments to be used as needed for children in crisis that they encounter. The officers lined up for the Teddy Bear Parade to receive the various stuffed animals as the volunteers paraded past depositing their toy in the offered bags.
Following the presentation of colors by the Mooresville Police Department color guard and the National Anthem, Elder Robert Gentry gave the invocation. Greetings were shared by Leigh Whitfield, director of marketing, public relations and auxiliary liaison. She noted how thankful they all are for the work of the volunteers.
“You mean the world to me and the hospital,” she said.
During the event, the group also enjoyed a luncheon hosted by Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, special Christmas music by members of the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church choir accompanied by volunteer Mary Stewart, and door prizes.
