Lake Norman Regional Medical Center Welcomes New Leaders

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Lake Norman Regional Medical Center welcomes two new members to the leadership team, Marquitta “Latrice” Thompson, MSN, R.N., director of medical surgical and ortho/neuro/spine, and Sarah White, MSN, R.N., director of emergency department services.
Thompson joins the hospital from Novant Health–Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, where she served as nurse manager since October, 2021. In this role she managed the centralized telemetry department as well as the telemetry processes of the greater Charlotte market. Additionally, she was responsible for the cardiac telemetry inpatient unit, a 30-bed unit specializing in medical-surgical and intermediate level care.
Thompson received her Bachelor of Science in biology from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA, and was an educator with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) and Volusia County Schools in Daytona Beach, FL, before going back to complete her Associate of Science in nursing from Central Piedmont Community College, in Charlotte, NC. Most recently, she received her Master of Science in nursing from Queens University in Charlotte, NC.
Sarah White joins the hospital from Mimbres Memorial Hospital, in Deming, NM, and Long Island Memorial Hospital in Long Island, NY, where she served in emergency department/trauma consulting, since August, 2022.
White received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Alabama and her Master of Science in nursing from Samford University, both located in Birmingham, AL. She received her Master of Business Administration from Queens University in Charlotte, NC.
White has progressive leadership management experience in emergency services, trauma, SANE program, free-standing emergency departments, urgency care centers, ICU, medical-surgical, nursing administration including chief nursing officer, and in various administrator roles.
